10/16 Celebrating Virginia Wine

50.00

Hundreds of Virginia wineries will be bustling for the 31st annual Virginia Wine Month—the oldest in the United States. But, there is no need to drive to visit Virginia vino. For this class, we will focus on the Monticello American Viticultural Area (AVA), and its environs, the choicest part of the state to grow grapes, where Thomas Jefferson’s dream of winemaking lives today.

Our premium line up includes Barboursville Vineyards winemaker Luca Paschina’s favorite wine (it’s not Octagon), a decadent viognier from Pollak Vineyards (Virginia’s official state grape), a high altitude pinot noir that rivals one from Burgundy made at Ankida Ridge, Richmond’s official grape, Horton Norton, as well as lush cabernet franc and petit verdot from Stinson Vineyards and Veritas Vineyard and Winery. If you want to get to sip and learn about the best Virginia bottlings, this is a top shelf tasting.
