Calling all bakers, our Baking camp is back! We will explore the worlds of sweet and savory baking. Discover how cultures all over the world have used baking as a way of life. Utilizing fresh ingredients we will make quick breads, cupcakes, biscuits, cookies, pizza, hand pies and more. We will decorate our sweets with icings and sprinkles. Our students will learn the science behind baking and how to translate the skills they use in baking to their everyday life. They will understand how baking ingredients work and how to measure properly. On the last day students will be challenged to a team Bake Off where they will compete to show off their work. Parents or caregivers are welcome to come and join the fun before pickup on Friday. Students will receive an apron a recipe booklets so they can recreate the fun. Drop Off 9am-9:15 Pickup at 2:45-3pm

The Flow

Upon arrival we will have a group talk and discuss our day ahead. In the first half we will work as teams in the kitchen during our all hands on baking class. Students will be working with recipes with guidance from our trained chefs. We will break for lunch and if the weather is nice we will go outside and take in some fresh air while eating the food we made from scratch. Second half of class will include regrouping with an exercise and reflection. On the last day of class we will have snacks and treats for our parents who are able to join us at pickup. Drop Off 9 - 9:15 a.m., Pickup 2:45 - 3 p.m.

Students will learn

Kitchen safety, baking skills, math and science behind baking, team building, keeping workstations and kitchen tidy, note taking and reflection activities.
