Host Your Next Event At Mise En Place


Mise En Place is conveniently located in Richmond’s Shockoe Slip district nestled in the historic Bowers Building. Our venue is perfect for intimate private events, business meetings, restaurant pop-ups, recipe development, and food photography.

Space and Furnishings Available for Use


Our meeting and dining area can seat 24 comfortably. Standing room is available for up to 40 guests.

Mise En Place provides tables and chairs for up to 24. Forty can fit comfortably seated when utilizing our banquette. We provide 12 brass bistro chairs, 17 folding chairs, two wood 103” community tables, three folding 6’ tables, and two marble sideboards that can be used for display.


We provide free Wifi access, projections screen, HD projector with HDMI input, wooden easel, dimmable lighting, and electrical. We provide a basic lightbox that can be used for food photography.

Our 950 sq. foot kitchen and dining area is licensed and inspected by the Virginia Department of Health. The following are available for use:

Not Included

We do not provided table settings including serving dishes, tableware, glassware, flatware, linen, or decor. All food and beverages are responsibility of the licensee. See our list of preferred vendors.

Rental Fees

In addition to half-day and full-day rates, we also staffing and beverage services for an additional fee. 

DAY Rates

Half Day: 4 Hours + 1 Hour of Setup - $500

Full Day: 8 Hours + 1 Hour of Setup - $750

Additional Time Per Hour - $100

We offer a $100 discount on our half day and full day rate for non-profits.


  • Cleaning services - $100 flat fee.

  • Bartenders - $50/hr. with 3 hour minimum (1 per 20 guests suggested)

  • Wait staff - $50/hr. with 3 hour minimum (1 per 12 guests suggested)
